New in our Makerspace . . . Geometric Hearts! We hope you stop by the Information Center to accept the challenge and build a geometric heart with straws and pipe cleaners.
February 1st was World Read Aloud Day. A lot of classes can to the Information Center and we celebrated with some read alouds and activities. Out theme this year was “Change the world! Choose Kind!” To keep the reading aloud momentum going, we have a lot of picture books and digital ...
This year we organized our fiction books by genre and we realized we need to expand some of our genres! We need some more graphic novels, mystery, horror, science fiction, sports books. This is where you come in! Please help us expand these sections by recommending some new books in these genres. You will find some recommendation slips in the different sections. Fill out a slip and recommend a book!

Stop by our Makerspace and make your own holiday card! We have a Make Challenge Bucket with all sorts of supplies to make your own holiday card... recycled holiday cards, ribbon, stamps, washi tape, and more! Get creative this holiday season and make a card for someone and share some cheer and kindness!
Upcycle a strand of partially broken holiday lights and learn how to create a light circuit! Stop by the Information Center to pick up a STEM Challenge Packet!
The Information Center is sponsoring a Holiday Reading Challenge and a Holiday Book Trivia Contest. The deadline for both is Tuesday, January 2nd! Attached you will find the challenge sheet to print yourself or you can stop by the Information Center and pick up a copy.
The Hour of code is under way...
Students at MVMS came to the Information Center and participated in the Hour of Code. There were 8 stations that they could choose from. Some of the activities included, Minecraft coding puzzles, creating a video game controller with a Makey Makey, designing bracelets using binary code, and programming Ozobots to complete a maze with color coded programs.
